Photo of one of many of our citrus trees encased in ice as we are irrigating water on them to protect the trees from hard freeze & the wood & bark on the trunk from freezing open resulting in tree death. Thanks to many volunteers from the Midway Coalition, Recovery House, F3 free men’s workout & our local employees we managed to get all our irrigation checked.
The temperature in Sanford Midway will be 11 hours under 32 F (0 C) & we hit at 4 am 25F (-3 C) that lasted unit 8 am. The winds 20-25 mph will be our Achilles heel as to what trees survived & what froze open. Most of our fruit is also frozen & likely will be a complete loss.
