The picture is of my father, Chalmers “Charlie” Murphy, who will celebrate his 100th birthday on May 11, 2026.

He volunteered to go into the US Army Air Corp when he was 17 years old and went into active duty during WWII when he was 18 years old. He served in the China Offensive, flying over the Hump in B24 bombers.

He now resides at the Col Robert Howard State Veterans Home in Pell City, Alabama, spending time with other vets sharing war stories as if it was just yesterday.
