These are videos of the thunderstorm that occurred this evening over the Sierra foothills. These videos were all shot coming southbound on I-80 between Applegate and Colfax around 7:45pm. There was lightning occurring about every 20 seconds, and we encountered a very heavy downpour as we got close to Colfax, which made visibility and driving extremely difficult. Cars were all having to slow due to the limited visibility. At one point, despite the pouring rain, road noise, and radio, the thunder was loud enough that we could hear it while driving.
