Indian River County Fire Department was called to the 500 block of 26th Avenue in Vero Beach South today shortly after 09:00 AM to assist in unknown combustion trash during a routine pickup up by Waste Management. The Waste Management truck's contents were dumped in the middle of a cul-de-sac, where fire department crews saturated the smoldering waste until deemed fit to load in a separate Waste Management truck. No injuries or other issues other than convenience to neighbors occurred. Thanks to a fine job by IRC Fire Department and a vigilant Waste Management truck crew.
