Indian River County Fire Department was called to the 500 block of 26th Avenue in Vero Beach South today shortly after 09:40 AM to assist in unknown combustion trash during a routine pickup by Waste Management. The truck's contents were dumped out in a cul-de-sac, where the fire department crew saturated the smoldering waste until deemed fit to load in a separate truck. No injuries or issues other than convenience to neighbors occurred, thanks to a fine job by IRC Fire Department and a vigilant Waste Management crew, who had a supervisor appear on scene.
